Booking
How do I book?
All bookings run through Instagram. Message @caramurphy_murphystudios for makeup, bridal and courses, or @caramurphy_murphyink for tattoos. The enquiry builder on the contact page puts your details together so you can paste them straight into a message.
When is the studio open?
Seven days a week, 7am to 7pm, by appointment.
Where is the studio?
At 1 Broad Street, Magherafelt, BT45 6EB.
What if I need to cancel or rearrange?
The same rules apply to makeup and tattoo appointments. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged in full. Rearranging with less than 24 hours' notice counts as a cancellation, so it's charged in full too. No-shows are charged in full.
Makeup and bridal
Do you travel for bridal makeup?
Yes. Cara travels to your home, hotel or venue anywhere in Northern Ireland for bridal makeup.
How far in advance should I book my wedding?
As soon as you have a date. Popular wedding dates are booked early, so it's best to check availability straight away.
Can you do makeup for my whole bridal party?
Yes, bridal parties are welcome. Let Cara know how many people need makeup when you enquire so the morning can be timed properly.
Do you do makeup for other occasions?
Yes. Birthdays, formals, race days and nights out are done in the studio in Magherafelt, seven days a week.
Tattoos
Do I need to be 18?
Yes. Murphy Ink tattoos are strictly 18+, with no exceptions.
Do you take walk-ins?
No. Tattoos are appointment only, so your session is yours alone.
Do I need a finished design?
No. Send your idea, however rough, with any reference photos. Cara designs every piece and will mock it up for you, with advice on size and placement.
Is a deposit needed?
Yes. A 50% deposit secures your tattoo appointment.
What styles do you tattoo?
Fine line work: botanical and floral pieces, animal portraits, matching tattoos and large-scale work on the back, ribs, spine and legs.
How do I look after my new tattoo?
You'll get aftercare guidance at your appointment, and the full written guide is on the tattoo aftercare page.
Courses
Who are the courses for?
The 1:1 Makeup Masterclass is for aspiring and working makeup artists. Learn On Your Own Face is for anyone who wants to do their own makeup properly.
Are the courses in person or online?
Both are available in the studio in Magherafelt or online as recorded video courses you can watch in your own time.
Do I get a certificate?
Yes, the 1:1 Makeup Masterclass includes a certificate on completion.
